I’m building JustScreen around the part that matters most: watching the film. One floating screen, your own library, and enough control to make the view feel right. Choose a movie or episode, settle in, and let the interface get out of the way.
Personal means personal. There’s no JustScreen account, advertising, analytics, social rooms or watch parties. Your viewing history and preferences stay on your headset, with controls to clear local data when you choose.
Make the screen yours
Go from a TV-sized display to an enormous flat or curved screen. Adjust size, distance, height and curvature, recenter in a touch, and save your favourite screen profiles for next time.

Browse movies and TV shows together, search for a title, explore available genres, or pick up with Continue Watching. Posters, plots and cast bring your collection to life when your server supplies them. Optional Kodi details can add richer local information.
Watch your way
Enjoy 2D and compatible side-by-side or top/bottom 3D video. Pause, seek, choose between available versions, and select supported audio and text-subtitle tracks. Use Quest controllers or direct-touch hand controls.
Before you start
From your library to the big screen.
You'll need your own compatible media, a supported Meta Quest headset, and a computer or NAS running a compatible UPnP/DLNA media server on the same local network. JustScreen runs on the headset; no PC VR connection is needed.
Share your media
Enable UPnP/DLNA sharing on your media server. Keep it running while you watch.
Connect your headset
Join the same local network, open JustScreen, and allow discovery and library import to finish.
Find your film
Choose a movie or episode, adjust the screen, and settle in. Refresh the library when you add content or start a server later.

A few useful details.
Does JustScreen include movies?
You bring your own media from a compatible local server. JustScreen does not include a movie catalog or streaming subscription, and it does not sign in to streaming services. The cover scenery is promotional artwork, not included demo footage.
Can I use Kodi, Jellyfin, Plex or Synology?
JustScreen uses their compatible UPnP/DLNA media-server functionality, where available and enabled. Some setups need a separate DLNA component. It is an independent app, with no native account integration or guarantee that every server version works. Kodi can optionally provide richer local metadata through its HTTP/HTTPS interface; basic DLNA playback works without connecting Kodi Details.
What kinds of 3D video can I watch?
Compatible side-by-side and top/bottom video, including half and full layouts. Recognised metadata and saved per-version settings determine the view; the available 3D controls let you correct the layout. Blu-ray MVC/frame-packed video, disc images, and 180-degree or 360-degree video are not supported.
Which video, audio and subtitle formats work?
Playback depends on the file's container and codecs, your media server, and the headset's decoders. An MKV or MP4 extension alone doesn't guarantee playback, and JustScreen does not transcode files. Try another available version or supported audio track if needed. Supported embedded text subtitles can be selected or turned off; image-based subtitles such as PGS or VobSub, external subtitle-file browsing, and subtitle downloads are not included.
How do I bring back the controls?
Press the controller's Menu button, normally on the left controller. With hands, turn your non-dominant palm towards the headset and pinch thumb and index together to use Quest's app-menu gesture. Touch controls directly and swipe to scroll. The Meta button and dominant-hand system gesture open Quest's own menus.
Why is my library empty?
Check that your server is running, UPnP/DLNA sharing is enabled, and the headset is on the same local network. Allow discovery to finish, then refresh the library. If it stays empty, check local-network permissions, the firewall, guest-network isolation and VPN routing. JustScreen does not need public internet access to your media server or port forwarding.
Why do some titles have less artwork or information?
Posters, genres, plots, credits and portraits depend on what your local server supplies. Sparse metadata does not prevent browsing or playback. JustScreen does not fetch missing artwork or film information from internet metadata services. Optional Kodi details can enrich what is available locally.
Where are my history and settings kept?
Playback history, preferences, screen profiles, artwork caches and optional server credentials stay on your headset. In Library → Privacy, you can clear artwork, history or saved credentials separately, or use Clear All Local Data with confirmation. A clear operation stops playback and reopens the library. Clearing all local data also removes preferences and screen profiles; it does not delete your movies or change your media server.
